Senator Art Haywood is recruiting volunteers for office support; we have an immediate need for event volunteers, and an opportunity to participate on a district advisory council with the Senator. Volunteering in these activities will enable students to help a neighbor and a stranger, strengthen and enrich the community, utilize extraordinary skills and talents, learn new skills, acquire knowledge about government and the many services it offers, meet new people and establish new friendships.
Senator Haywood serves the people in the 4th Senatorial District, which includes Montgomery County (Abington, Rockledge, Jenkintown, Cheltenham, Springfield Township), and the Northwest section of Philadelphia (Mt. Airy, Germantown, Chestnut Hill, West Oak lane). Chestnut Hill College is located within that district. The Senator has office in Philadelphia at 7106 Germantown Avenue (Germantown/Mt. Pleasant), and in Abington at 1168 Easton Road to serve those areas and more.
Students can make a difference in only a few hours a day and a few days a week. It is their choice! This is a nonpartisan opportunity.
The Senator’s office will host Volunteer meetings at two locations:
- 7106 Germantown Avenue on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 10:00am-11:30am, and 6:00pm-7:30pm.
- 1168 Easton Road, Abington, PA, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 10:00am-11:30am, and 6:00pm-7:30pm.
At these events students will learn more about the Senator and his work, volunteer opportunities with the Senator and his team, the overall volunteer program, process, and next steps.
Students would have to confirm attendance by Monday, 10/5/2015, by sending me an email to email@example.com. Please let me know if you guys would be interested in connecting us with students for the council and office events. Or if your group would be interested in attending one of our information sessions.
