As part of our summer-long Dems in DC series, we’ll be profiling various Dems interning in DC this summer.
Penn Dems Outreach Director, Intern at the Department of Justice – Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
This DC native is back home for the summer, but, like always, he’s hard at work. In the past, he has worked in the White House Office of Correspondence, the Department of Education, and the DC Mayor’s Office. If you’re considering an internship at the DOJ, he wants to make sure you know that they directly employ interns after college through a special bridge program, which is a great way to get your foot in the door.
His favorite area to visit: Mazza Gallerie in Friendship Heights
Best way to finish up a long work week: Jazz in the Garden to meet up with other interns to network or just relax
To anyone interning in DC, he recommends searching for mentors while you’re here. No matter how hard you work, Ray knows it’s all about connections in this city.
