PRESIDENT
Emma Ellman-Golan is a sophomore in the College, majoring in political science. She is addicted to gum and chapstic and loves 6′2 half-black former senators from Illinois. She is from New York City and worked for Councilwoman Rosie Mendez in the Lower East Side for 3 years as a Constituent and Legislative Aide, focusing specifically on problems facing public housing residents. She lived in Israel for a year at age 13 and speaks Hebrew pretty well. Her short term goal is to be Sasha and Malia’s babysitter and long term goal is to run for office someday. Look for her singing around campus with the Shabbatones, eating dinner at Hillel on meat nights, or on the walk in her Alpha Phi letters. And most importantly, if you want to get on her good side, give her some chocolate. Preferably dark. Preferably Godiva. president@penndems.org
VICE PRESIDENT
Elizabeth Celata is a junior in Wharton and worked with Penn for Obama in the 2008 election. But none of that really matters. The only important fact about Elizabeth is that she lives vicariously through Philadelphia’s various sports teams. Their triumphs are her triumphs; their failures are her lock-herself-in-a-bathroom-crying-have-to-be-coaxed-out-by-hostage-negotiator moments. If the Eagles had just gotten their game together then, taken together with the dual victories of Barack and the Phillies, Elizabeth’s life would have been complete and she would have ascended to heaven on a cloud of bubbles and joy. vicepresident@penndems.org
EVENTS DIRECTOR
Ben Lopez is a member of the Class of 2013, and is working towards a degree in Economics and Political Science. He is originally from Geneva, Switzerland and went to high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before landing here in Philly. When he’s not events directing, you can find him reading The New York Times, constantly listening to music, or just “palling” around his hall. Or watching the packers. Go pack! events@penndems.org
POLITICAL DIRECTOR
David Aron is a member of the class of 2013 and is from Chicago, IL. political1@penndems.org
LEGISLATIVE DIRECTOR
Isabel Friedman is a freshman in the College. Before matriculating at Penn, she took a gap year and worked for Obama for America, running all operations in University City and helping the Penn Dems achieve a voter turnout of over 96%. legislative@penndems.org

Beryl Sanders is a freshman in the College from Westchester, NY. membership@penndems.org
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

TREASURER
Jake Shuster is in the Class of 2013, and hopes to graduate with a degree in Economics and French. He is originally from NYC, making him a raging liberal who loves taxes, and a huge Mets fan - sorry Phillies fans, 2010 is going to be all NY. He is also roommates with the Penn Dems Political Director…clean up your side of the room - it’s a mess. And, believe it or not, he’s also on UA, Class Board 2013, and is a member of T-Change. treasurer@penndems.org
COMMUNITY OUTREACH DIRECTOR
Kalina “Lina” Francis is a rising Junior in the College of Arts and Sciences from The Bronx, New York. She became politically involved during sophomore year of high school when she joined Junior Statesman of America, a nationwide, nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization for high school students. After Barack Obama’s speech at the 2004 DNC, Lina was determined to spread Obama-mania throughout the country (she wears her Obama 2008 pin to this day). Therefore, during her junior year of high school, she interned on Capitol Hill with Senator Obama and continued to spread the word of Barack up until the 2008 election. As the Director of Community Outreach, Lina hopes to expand the committee to work with more students in West Philadelphia, gain training working with students from CSSP and make the curriculum more interactive for the students. outreach@penndems.org
