27th Ward Democratic Executive Committee Newsletter

General Election November 6, 2007

Polls Open 7 AM-8 PM

Dear Neighbors,

The top of the ballot in this general election for the Democratic Party will feature the 27th Ward’s choice in the highly contested May primary, Michael Nutter.  We were proud to support Mr. Nutter for mayor, and especially encouraged by the voters in the 27th coming out in full force to vote to place an extremely competent, qualified man for that office.  Our ward contributed greatly to his victory!

Our work, however, is not done.  We need to ensure we have a high turnout in this election, not only to guarantee Michael’s success in this general election, but also to oppose an effort by PACleanSweep to remove competent judges from the bench.  Several judges are on the ballot to retain their seats, and while a careful analysis should be done on the performance of each judge before voting to retain that judge, voting no for all judges up for retention is counterproductive to an intelligently run judicial system.  We have made recommendations for you to consider, and you may also do your own research by accessing the Bar Association’s web site (see reverse side).

We hope you will take these recommendations into the polling place.  You legally are allowed to take this list with you.

As always, we welcome all voters to more actively participate in our ward.  If you have suggestions or comments, or would like more information, contact me at any time at snookie@temple.edu or 215-387-0839.

See you at the polls on November 6th.

Sincerely,

Carol Jenkins

Ward Leader, 27th Ward Democrats
