Run for 2009 Penn Democrats Board!
November 18, 2008 – 6:47 pm —
Eligibility
Any student who has attended two events or volunteered twice during the 2008 calendar year is eligible to vote for the next Penn Democrats board. We ask that if you do come to the meeting that you stay for the entire election.
Any student who is eligible to vote is also eligible to run for any position as long as he/she will be at Penn for the duration of the year (so if you’re studying abroad in Spring/Fall 09, you are not eligible to run for a board position, although you can still vote).
Rules
1. Anyone can declare his/her candidacy up until the meeting begins at 7pm on December 2nd.
2. It is strongly encouraged that candidates submit a 300-word statement to vicepresident@penndems.org explaining why they want to run for a specific board position. Submissions will be accepted until 7pm Monday Dec. 1st. They will be sent out in a listserv email later Monday night, and will also be posted onpenndems.org as they are received. Historically, these statements explain the candidate’s past involvement with Penn Democrats as well as any relevant experience that qualifies him/her for a particular board position.
3. The board positions are for the duration of the calendar year 2009.
The 2009 Board will be composed of the following positions:
President
Vice-President
Events Director
Membership Director
Communications Director
Treasurer (includes fundraising duties)
Technology Director (in charge of website and listserv)
Any questions should be directed to Lauren Burdette at president@penndems.org.
