My name is Justin Spiegel and I work for John Adler’s congressional campaign in New Jersey’s third district.  John Adler is currently a Democratic State Senator, and is running for Congress in a seat being vacated by retiring Congressman Jim Saxton.  Currently, the campaign is hosting an unpaid internship program for high school and college students, which allows students to gain valuable hands-on experience, as well as to become involved in the democratic process of campaigning for public office.

As the fall semester approaches, we would like to invite students from Penn to partake in our internship program.  We are looking for interns with a variety of skills. We offer a wide range of tasks that will utilize our interns’ unique talents. Interns work in all aspects of the campaign including: neighborhood canvassing, researching potential donors, managing phone banks, staffing campaign events, and recruiting and coordinating volunteers.

We will work with each intern to create a schedule that works for the intern and the campaign. We are here from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. Our campaign office is located in Mount Laurel, which is less than 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia.  If any interested students need transportation, we would be happy to talk to them and see if we can help arrange it.

Do the Penn College Democrats have an listserv that could be e-mailed about this opportunity?  In addition, please let me know if you have any suggestions of how to spread word of this internship among interested students.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or for further information, or give me a call at (856) 222-9709.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
