The University of Pennsylvania Democrats is a student-run political organization open to all members of the Penn community – undergraduate and graduate alike. Our mission is to promote progressive political values on and off campus through dialogue and action.

Although we promote progressive politics, we have great diversity of opinion among our members and welcome all Penn students to our events, regardless of political affiliation.

Pennsylvania is one of the most exciting states in the country to get involved in politics, with highly competitive races at the local, regional, and national levels. Penn Dems engages with candidates to elect Democrats throughout government through canvassing, phone banking, registering voters and other initiatives. Regardless of if you have campaign experience, Penn Dems is a great way to learn about local & national issues and elect Democratic candidates to public office at all levels of government.

Penn Democrats seeks to engage and inform students across campus through regular speaker events, tabling on Locust walk, and other educational opportunities. Whether you are interested in learning more about progressive issues or if you want to help inform more people about the issues you are passionate about, Penn Dems the activity to join!

Penn Democrats attracts some of the most involved and energized students on Penn’s campus. We entertain a wide array of perspectives within the Democratic Party, and as such the community provides a great resource for broadening your understanding of progressive issues and discourse. Come to our events if you are looking to engage in thoughtful and intellectually-stimulating debates about progressive issues with Democrats of all backgrounds.
